Information about daiza: I made the daiza and stylized Empire State building from Honduran mahogany.

Interesting fact about stone: As mentioned, the stone was collected on the Eel River on a collecting trip that I made with friends just days before attending the "Golden State Bonsai Convention" in Sacramento, Ca.  At  first I thought this was going to be my specimen of an Eel River mountain stone, however I wasn't satisfied that I could somehow hide what I considered to be the " unsightly" front of my mountain.  Because of this, the stone was about to be left behind in CA. Why ship a 10 lb stone back to PA.? On taking one last look,  aong with a friend, who had also been on the collecting trip, we simultaneously saw the gorilla. Needless to say it is now one my most prized stones.
